Hey everybody,

Sorry I haven’t blogged in ages, but I’ve been too swamped to post. But it is my new goal to post all the shoots I’ve been doing. So, I’m going to try  to start doing one a week and I’ll see if I can ever catch up.

I’ve been working on a new site and it should be up soon! My current site is so out of date that I felt like I need to start from scratch and figure out all the work that I haven’t put up in the past 2 years.

So check back soon!!

Just to leave this post with an image. Here is one I did a little while ago. It is a polaroid manipulation. I used strobes with an old polaroid to shoot this. Then  I used a hot spoon to manipulate it. The texture turned out far better than I ever realized and I  really think it helped with my concept behind the Image. Gotta love Polaroid!

It is already a crazy fall. I have been doing several shoots every day. So I’ll try to put a lot up in the next few weeks.

The girls didn’t want to pose or have there photographer taken with there parents. But  they were quite happy playing/tasting rocks by themselves. Kids will be kids.

I know the color is quite a bit different between these. But they are just for the blog.

Judging by this photo, Sienna is going to be a little painter I think.

The good news, is we can know shoot the plastic Diana lens on our digital cameras! I love the plastic cameras and am super excited.  I think you can buy the whole collection of Diana lenses for around $150. You really can’t say that for any other line of lenses.

I love the softness and glow to these. I think I’m going to play around with this more this weekend with Alisa! We have the 20mm fisheye, 38mm shown below, and the 50mm macro. I should have ordered a 100mm so I could complete the collection but then I would have nothing left to ask for for Christmas. By the way if you know a photographer and want to give them an amazing present. Go ahead and get them any of the lomography cameras, or anything in general.

We did all of these in studio, shot with one beauty dish.

I just did some pics of my friend Jaimi’s family. We were going for different, fun and colorful. This is what we got:

It was really a fun family shoot, the little girl didn’t love being in the full family shots, but she did a lot better by herself.

I’ve really been playing quite a bit with this cross-process look. Also I’ve been shoot quite a bit with the Canon 85mm 1.2 and the 50mm 1.4. I am a little disappointing in the Canon 50mm 1.4, it definitely photographs softer than the Carl Ziess 50mm 1.4, but the manual focus is just way too hard for kids.

I really like these lifestyle family photographs, a little less posed, and a little more lose and fun. Also color is fantastic!

These are weeks 17-22 of Alisa being prego. We’ve been photographing Alisa every week in the same spot in our house here in Salt Lake. Things have changed a little bit on the angle of the shot but it is amazing to watch Amelia (our  baby) grow.

They were all shot with the Canon 85mm in the 1.6 range except one that was shot with the 90mm TSE at 2.8. And mostly natural light.

Heather George (a great photographer) and I spent a few hours looking for a location for a big family shoot today. We found quite a few sweet winter locations. I really like the pics of these two and just thought I would toss them up.
