The good news, is we can know shoot the plastic Diana lens on our digital cameras! I love the plastic cameras and am super excited.  I think you can buy the whole collection of Diana lenses for around $150. You really can’t say that for any other line of lenses.

I love the softness and glow to these. I think I’m going to play around with this more this weekend with Alisa! We have the 20mm fisheye, 38mm shown below, and the 50mm macro. I should have ordered a 100mm so I could complete the collection but then I would have nothing left to ask for for Christmas. By the way if you know a photographer and want to give them an amazing present. Go ahead and get them any of the lomography cameras, or anything in general.

We did all of these in studio, shot with one beauty dish.

For all you photographers and nerds, these were all shot with a 5d II, and processed to look cross-processed for a more alternative and fun look.

Don’t worry, you are not on acid.

cybercommander03After what seems like an eternity of waiting our Paul C. Buff Cybercomanders are shipping! I’m still not sure if I can believe it or not, I guess we’ll have wait and see.

The Cybercomander is made by Paul C. Buff and is made to work with Alien Bee and White Lightning Strobes. With it we’ll be able to controll the power output of our lights from the unite. This is amazing because sometimes you are just way too far away from the strobe to power it up and down. I know it seems simple but it is going to make the life of a lifestyle photographer much much better.

I’ll let you know when I have more info on how it works

As a photographer, sometimes you just need to try something fun and new. These are my first test photographs from the Pop Cam. This is a fun little camera that takes 4 photos every shot onto one film plane. Us this bad boy for good photo times.

It was really a fun family shoot, the little girl didn’t love being in the full family shots, but she did a lot better by herself.

I’ve really been playing quite a bit with this cross-process look. Also I’ve been shoot quite a bit with the Canon 85mm 1.2 and the 50mm 1.4. I am a little disappointing in the Canon 50mm 1.4, it definitely photographs softer than the Carl Ziess 50mm 1.4, but the manual focus is just way too hard for kids.

I really like these lifestyle family photographs, a little less posed, and a little more lose and fun. Also color is fantastic!

I found this winter landscape that I took last winter in my collection. I had to print it 6′ for a backdrop for a shot. It will be published in December.

Hey everybody,

Sorry about no posts for 3 weeks! I just can’t figure out where the time went. I have been post quite a bit to our family blog but not to this one.

I have been super busy and have several weddings and engaments that I’ll post up as soon as I can. I also have been SWAMPED with all the catalog/magazine photography that I normally do. I was just noticing that I have fallen way behind on posting that work up.

Anyways, I thought I would share these photographs I took tonight of Amelia Minnie. She has been a super happy baby and really fun to photograph, well and just have in general. When we took these pictures she was in a horrible mood. Totally tired and I really didn’t think we where going to get any photographs of her. But I put up a quick strobe and got quite a few good photographs of her.

IMG_9632For all you photographers. I shot this with my 5dII and my new Paul C. Buff P.L.M. on a AB1600 strobe. The White Lightning/Alien Bee PLM’s are super these really cool and really huge light modifiers. I just have the white one for know but I’m going to order the silver ones too. They are huge and create such nice soft light with little effort. This was shot in a 9×12 room and as you can tell the light is just spilling in and adding fill with no cards or boards or anything.

The catch light is soft and still has pretty good direction with it. I’m really impressed. I have a pile of soft boxes that I haven’t been using a tone of at home. With this light being so soft and nice, I think I’m going to keep it on hand for your quick shot around the house.

I also just photographed my whole house with it if you would like to check out how it would do for interiors.

So a few weeks ago I went up to the Tetons with Alisa and some of her family. We hiked around and didn’t climb (weird), but it was super pretty.

Let me know if anybody is interested in purchasing any of these prints. Also I do have a landscape section on my main site where you can purchase many photographs.

Also here are some images that I shot about 6 years ago in Cinque Torri. Cinque Torri (5 Towers) is an amazing place located in Northern Italy’s mountainous Dolomites. I think it was one of our best stops in Europe.

Just finished phase one of Matt and Julie’s wedding edit. These are a few of the details from the wedding. Julie and company, made many of the decorations themselves. And it really turned out amazing.

We also decided that ‘normal’ coloring is for suckers. So I applied my own version of cross/processing to all of the images to give them a different feel. I’m glad that Julie and Matt were into the colors because I’m loving them!

Also there are a lot of great ideas for you wedding, especially if you getting married in Salt lake City area.

Things I loved about the wedding:

The Details – the amount of thought and time that went into this was amazing. And she made everything and did all of the work herself!

The Lunching – There are not very many good choices for events like this in Salt Lake. Em’s Cafe was perfect. I think it wold be an amazing place to get married. They have a huge deck, in a sweet location. The food was great, decoration is great!

Cake – Nothing Bunt Cake is amazing. If you havn’t had it, drive down to 105th and pick up one of ever flavor in there small buntlets and eat them all.

Flower – Sweet little rare flowers, why not get something different.

Feel – Really the whole thing just had a nice artsy feel.

Good job guys!
